An artist based in Berlin and Tokyo.
Through the material construction of sound and music, his work gives spatial and temporal form to the contours of the untouchable.
Hakumei 1.2 reconfigured five tracks from Hakumei as a spatial sound installation. Suspended omnidirectional speakers, floor-mounted coaxial speakers, and a central subwoofer created an acoustic field in which sound could be felt physically through the body. Intermittent flashes of light repeatedly disrupted dark-adapted vision, destabilizing perception within the dim space. Rather than presenting the source material as it was, the work re-examined Hakumei through a different spatial, sculptural, and bodily composition.
